Desi The Kitty Checks Out The Pyramids In Egypt!

Desi The Kitty Checks Out The Pyramids In Egypt!

Desi is an adorable little girl kitty and she’s very shy.  She’s a city kitty and lives with her brother Holden in New York and they have fun with their mommy Lacey.  Desi can see the Freedom Tower from her window which is one of the biggest and newest skyscrapers in the world – a true modern landmark.

Desi got to thinking how cool it would be to see one of the greatest modern landmarks AND one of the most ancient landmarks, so where better to see some than the pyramids in Egypt!  According to Wikipedia which, you know – all knowledge flows from (hehe) the earliest pyramids were built over 4 THOUSAND years ago and some are considered to be among the oldest monumental structures in the world!  She decided on the Giza pyramids just outside of Cairo.

Desi is only a year old but she has been on a plane a couple times already back and forth from New York to Michigan so she was prepared for this trip, although 16 hours is a bit longer than…..1.  That was long.

When she got there though she was so excited – and what a spectacular sight!  She reflected on the vastness of time between the 1792 foot tower she sees from her window every day and the 481 foot Great Pyramid!

But wait……………….what?

Desi got a huge surprise when she saw a pyramid that kinda looked like……a CAT!  But this cat looked like it had a human head and that’s when she found out what a Sphinx is.  Desi felt totally connected to the ancient world.  How cool!  She had to have a picture with this Sphinx and Holden was blown away when she showed it to him when she got back to New York.  This turned out to be the petcation of a lifetime!

Daisy The Rottweiler

Daisy The Rottweiler Chills At A Cabin In The Smoky Mountains!

Daisy The Rottweiler Chills At A Cabin In The Smokey Mountains!

Daisy the Rottweiler is a wonderful pup. A very thoughtful canine, she works hard keeping her mom, Mandy, safe and happy – a job she takes very seriously! She knows Mandy has had a stressful couple of years as a nurse in a hospital during a pandemic so she takes care of her. But she also is sure to find the time to play with her siblings Lady & Buddy! A well-rounded family fido! When it’s time to relax, she likes to chill at a cabin in the mountains with her mom and she deserved a getaway so she got a cabin in the Smokys with an amazing view.

She came prepared on this trip – she knew she would want to go on some hikes and meet some other animals, but she knew the rest & relaxation would still be key especially after hiking that terrain, so she made sure to have some nice big bones to chew on while chillaxing on the beautiful porch, and she even brought a Florida pillow to remind her of home and keep her comfy while she takes in the serenity of the tree covered peaks! Every dog has her day right? Daisy sure deserved and enjoyed hers! Good to see her with that nice big smile on her face!

Fiona

Fiona Goes For A Hike In An Enchanted Forest!

Fiona Goes For A Hike In An Enchanted Forest!

Fiona the kitty cat (who also goes by “Floof”, “Floofy” or “Floofen”) had heard about a namesake of hers who was a princess in an enchanted forest.  Fiona is a “little baby” and a very sweet little kitty who loves to have her back scratched – actually she demands it be scratched if anyone sits on the couch in her family room.  She’ll come running from anywhere in the house if she hears someone sit, so everyone just knows that’s the deal.
Meanwhile she wanted to see what the forest was like and if she would be a princess there too if she went, so Doug, Ally, Lacey and Tony sent her to the enchanted forest.  Floofy packed a little backpack with supplies to take for the hike – she did her research – and she wanted to make sure she had some treats and water with her, along with a little first aid kit.  Smart kitty.
When she got to the forest it was beautiful!  The sun was rising and there was a little wood pathway which was perfect for a photo op!  She looks so happy!  There wasn’t anyone around but being in such a majestic place with nothing but the sounds of nature all around made her feel like a princess just the same… She took it all in, got some good exercise and returned home where she was right back in the family room for more back scratches.  Happy to be back, but this was certainly a petcation she’ll never forget.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi Visits Japan To Learn The Way Of The Ancient Samurai!

Tai Chi Visits Japan To Learn The Way Of The Ancient Samurai!

Akitas are dogs of Japanese origin from the mountainous regions of Northern Japan.  They were companions of the samurai and part of Samurai culture for 5 centuries!  Tai Chi is a stunning black and white Akita and he wanted to connect with his history so his owner Barry sent him to Japan to learn all about it.  He’s a good dog who typically goes by “Tai” for short.

Tai is a loyal companion and family protector. He is impressively independent yet always exuding a conscious dedication to those he loves.  He embodies everything you would want in a family member and it is no wonder that as such a thoughtful pup he would be interested in connecting to his roots in Japan!

Tai was pretty excited to meet a man who could show him some swordsmanship and teach him his history.  What a great opportunity and he returned feeling fulfilled!  He deserved it for sure.

Holden the cat snuggling with a lion

Holden Meets Up With A King Cousin in Africa!

Holden Meets Up With A King Cousin In Africa!

Holden is a very active young kitty. He likes to run around a lot and make friends. He had heard about Africa and that it was really big so he could run and run and run as much as he wants! The other thing that intrigued him was that a lot of other cats lived there – and that some of them were royalty! Like maybe he was related to a KING perhaps. Holden did a little Googling and found that as many as 15,000 of these King cousins live in the Serengeti in Tanzania so he made that his destination.

With three stops and a couple of layovers this trip took about 30 hours… Holden hadn’t really thought about that and he was exhausted when he finally made it, but the good news is that lions spend a lot of time napping so when he finally found a King cousin he was sleeping! Holden crashed hard. But it was worth it, and he snuggled right in to his newfound cousin using his paw as a pillow!!! What an experience for him! He really enjoyed himself.

Leo the Cat goes to NY

Leo Heads to the Big Apple!

Leo Heads To The Big Apple!

Leo has a BIG personality.  He tends to be the alpha in his home and he’s even a little crazy.  Sometimes he communicates with his teeth and gets a tad bit “bitey” shall we say…  but he loves to have conversations – literally meowing conversationally.  He greets you at the door when you get home with a couple meows and gives you his belly.  Just watch out – HE decides when he’s done giving you his belly.  He likes to sit on laps and watch TV – this cool cat has a lot going on.
He figured New York was the city that might be able to handle him since it’s so huge, because he brings so much personality to the table.  He doesn’t have the small town kitty vibe at all and if he was going to go on a petcation he wanted to go to a place where if he could make it there he could make it anywhere.  He found a nice spot across the river where he could get a good view of the skyline while he was there, hopped up on a random yellow chair and smiled a big smile for this photo to remember his trip.  Leo got his bite of the Big Apple alright!  Check him out!

Tucker goes to the beach

Tucker The Cat Goes To The Beach!

Tucker The Cat Goes To The Beach!

Tucker is a good boy. He’s a bit of a scaredy cat but he’s very cute and lovable. The pandemic has provided a silver lining for Tucker and that’s discovering his love of Zoom. His parents Doug & Ally have had plenty of zooms at home and Tucky (as he’s often called) likes to join. He keeps to himself a lot but sometimes he does indeed get cuddly, and he drools when he purrs which is hilarious.

Meanwhile Tucker decided recently to get away, and his top choice for a vacay was the beach. Who knew? Good for him though – the winter in Michigan has been brutal this year so a little sun was the purrrfect remedy. Not to mention he can still zoom while he’s chilling on the beach so he staked out a nice deserted spot, put up an umbrella, brought his laptop and cool beach towel and he’s currently living his best life.

Cheers to Tucker.

JJ the dog goes to the farm

JJ Bought The Farm – Like, Actually!

JJ Bought The Farm – Like, Actually!

Yes JJ ACTUALLY bought the farm! JJ is a good pup and very family oriented.  He is a homebody who loves his brothers Conor, Dylan & Tobey. He also loves snuggling and he loves the snow too – that’s the husky in him.

The thing is, his love of snow and the outdoors in general prompted him to save his kibbles and lo and behold he surprised the family with his purchase of a farm! It’s a perfect getaway where JJ can go to decompress when he needs to (sometimes it’s a little hectic at home – which he NEVER contributes to of course), but there is plenty of space so he can bring everyone along sometimes as well!

The best part is all the land. JJ has a lot of energy and the farm gives him a chance to let loose and roam – and he’s even thinking this will give him a perfect training ground for the Iditarod in the winter time.

Enjoy your special place JJ!

Buddy Bearded Dragon visits Australia

Buddy The Dragon Gets Back To His Roots Down Under!

Buddy The Dragon Gets Back To His Roots Down Under!

Buddy lives a charmed life – he’s a very lucky dragon. He was surrendered back to Premier Pet Supply in West Bloomfield when his dad Tony found him, and since then Buddy has 1) Gone to college at MSU 2) Joined a fraternity 3) Learned a little yoga and plenty more… He gets his fill of roaches and celery, gets to snuggle in front of the TV with his family and he pretty much does what he likes.

But something was missing.

It’s not that Buddy DIDN’T feel fulfilled, but there was a yearning that he had deep inside – a yearning to discover his roots……

Buddy did a little research and found out that most species of bearded dragons originate in Australia! He wanted to go down under to the outback on a quest of personal discovery, so he took a PETCATION!

He was blown away by the beauty of the outback and he even met a kangaroo! He fit right in with the wildlife there and he’s so happy he got to go. Look how happy he is in this photo!
